About Us
OZANSOY LAB is being led by Mehmet Ozansoy, Ph.D. He is a molecular biologist working in the field of neuroscience since 2000. Our team focuses primarily on neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and ALS. Specifically we are generating in vitro models of these disorders and the roles of regulatory RNAs in the molecular/cellular mechanisms of them. We have also research projects related with the clinical staging of the neurodegenerative disorders and several biomarkers.
In addition to that, we are interested and working in the field of neuro-oncology. Screening and evaluating of drug candidates in the context of gliomas is one of our research areas.
With the collaboration of Biomedical Engineering Department of BahçeÅŸehir University, we have established several in vitro models for studying the possible effect(s) of photobiomodulation and searching for its effects at the level of gene expression.
Our group is made up of graduate students (Ph.D. and MSc.) joined us from Neuroscience Ph.D. and Master Programmes and also students of medical school in BahçeÅŸehir University.
